The Czechoslovak basketball legend František Konvička was born 11 August, 1938 in Okrišky, Czechoslovakia. The 192-centimeters-tall guard/forward played the majority of his career with the Czechoslovak club Spartak ZJŠ Brno (1957-1969, 1971-1973).
Konvička made his EuroLeague debut in 1958/59 season, instantly making an impact and being one of the leading scorers of the competition. He had a very successful run in the EuroLeague, being Top 10 in scoring in every of 6 seasons Konvička played in the EuroLeague. He was the EuroLeague Top Scorer two times (1964, 1968), and his scoring efforts helped Spartak to reach the EuroLeague Finals twice, as well as win the bronze medals two more times. In total, Konvička scored 1101 points in 47 EuroLeague games, averaging 23.4 points per game.
Internationally, Konvička helped Czechoslovakia to reach two Eurobasket Finals (1959, 1967), as well as win the bronze medals in 1969. In his EuroLeague, Saporta Cup, and international games from 1958 to 1973, Konvička scored 2071 points in 128 games.
