Gianfranco Sardagna

The Italian international Gianfranco Sardagna was born 28 May, 1935 in Gorizia, Italy. The 190-centimeters-tall small forward played for three Italian teams during his career – Reyer Venezia (1955-1956), Olimpia Milano (1957-1959 & 1961-1964), and Virtus Bologna (1959-1961). On international level, Sardagna played in two Olympics (1960, 1964) and one EuroBasket edition in 1955.

Sardagna played 5 seasons in the EuroLeague, and in two of those seasons, he finished the season in the Top 20 in scoring. While playing in Milan, he also won 4 Italian Serie A titles.

The Italian forward retired in 1964, at the age of 29. In his EuroLeague and international games from 1955 to 1964, Sardagna scored a total of 396 points in 42 games.
