The Polish basketball legend Janusz Wichowski was born 6 October, 1935 in Chelm, Poland. The 196-centimeters-tall small forward spent his career with two Warsaw teams – Polonia (1955-1960) and Legia (1960-1968).
Wichowski had a successful individual run in the EuroLeague, winning two consecutive EuroLeague Top Scorer (1960, 1961) titles. In the 1959/60 season, he helped Polonia to reach the semi-finals of the EuroLeague. In total, the Polish forward played four seasons in the EuroLeague, scoring 488 points in 19 games, and averaging 25.7 points per game.
On the national level, Wichowski led the Polish League in scoring 6 times, helping his team to win 4 championships. In his EuroLeague and international games from 1957 to 1967, Wichowski scored 1328 points in 90 games.
