The Greek basketball legend Steve Giatzoglou was born 11 December, 1949 in New York City, USA. The 188-centimeters-tall combo guard spent the majority of his career with the Olympiacos (1972-1984) team, winning two Greek League titles in his career.
Giatzoglou made his EuroLeague debut during the 1976/77 season, scoring 101 points in 6 games, averaging 16.8 points per game. In his second and final season in the EuroLeague, the Olympiacos legend finished third in the 1978/79 season Top Scorer’s list with 348 points in 16 games, averaging 21.8 points per game. His efforts led Olympiacos to sixth place in the competition.
He was the leading Olympiacos player for more than a decade, helping his team to win the Greek League titles in 1976 and 1978. In his EuroLeague, Saporta Cup, Korac Cup, and international games from 1972 to 1983, Giatzoglou scored 1306 points in 75 games.
